Iconic musician Elton John will take his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour to Vancouver’s Rogers Arena for not one, but two nights next September.

Due to extremely high demand, this week John added 25 additional North American concert dates to the sold-out tour, which kicked off on Sept. 8.

The farewell show takes the audience on a magical journey through John’s career. It features some of the musician’s most beloved songs from his very, very long and legendary catalogue including, “Bennie and the Jets,” “Rocket Man,” “Tiny Dancer,” and “Philadelphia Freedom,” according to a media release.

Those that check out the goodbye tour will experience a rare glimpse into John’s life and the deeply personal meaning behind some of his greatest musical achievements. The show features never-before-seen photos and videos from his legendary 50-year career.

“As he has promised his millions of fans, it’s more than just an unforgettable performance of the most iconic and loved music of his career, it’s a look back at all our lives and how Elton John’s music has been interwoven into the social, political and cultural history of our world,” said Jay Marciano, Chairman and CEO of AEG Presents, promoters of the tour, in a media release.

While the “Rocket Man” performer has toured excessively for much of his career, this is it. Just like with Paul Simon, another American treasure, John is hanging up his touring hat for good. Or rather, his wild blazer and funky sunglasses.

John sits down to his piano in front of Vancouver for the last time on Sept. 21 and 22, 2019. Tickets for these dates go on sale next Friday, Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. on www.eltonjohn.com.
