Minimalist Canadian brand opens exclusive womenswear store
Following a lively opening party on Wednesday (Dec. 13), Vancouver’s first dedicated Frank And Oak womenswear pop-up store is now open to the public.
Located at 1173 Robson Street, the space comes just in time for Christmas shopping. Local DJ Niña Mendoza provided upbeat, nostalgic funky tunes on Wednesday as guests tried on Frank And Oak’s fall/winter collection—a polished line that favours velvet, Annie Hall-esque collared ensembles and elegant long coats perfect for Vancouver’s mild winters.
Tonight, the store will host special opening activities from 5-9 p.m., as well as Saturday from 12-3 p.m. Vancouver’s own Lindsay Sjoberg of lifestyle blog Treasures & Travels will be available for style advice, sharing her favourite Frank And Oak picks with guests. Mendoza will be back with more tunes, and gifts with purchase will be available for any early bird shoppers.
While the permanent Gastown store will continue to sell both men’s and women’s styles, the Robson store is exclusively womenswear. Its setup is minimalist, not unlike the fall/winter collection. The Canadian-designed brand has certainly picked up steam lately outside of B.C.—with stores across the country—but its styles fit in particularly well with Vancouver’s simple, fashion-forward vibe.
