NEEDS announce album release show with BRASS

needsTwo staples in Vancouver’s hardcore scene come together on May 14 at Fortune Sound Club. NEEDS and BRASS are both set to make their full-length debuts within the next few months (NEEDS with their self-titled on May 12 and BRASS with No Soup Radio on June 12), but NEEDS are the first to announce a record release show. Fortune is far from the dank, concrete crevice and scorched earth dive that both bands have crawled out of, but if either group’s new single is any indication, neither might seem so alien in such a slick space.

NEEDS have built a devoted following with their helter-skelter live shows, earning themselves spots alongside Fucked Up, White Lung, Perfect Pussy, and Trash Talk. Fresh off of having played SXSW, which NPR Music gave a nod to in their festival preview, NEEDS have aligned themselves with local imprint File Under: Music to release their debut.

Listen to NEEDS “lighten up” on album track “Rescue Don”, and watch BRASS’s (literally) ripping video for “Monolithic”.

Tickets for the show, which also features Vancouver punks Low Levels and Flowers & Fire, as well as a photo display by NEEDS singer Sean Orr, are available at Beat Street, Red Cat, Zulu, and online.
