Both revered artists, this Bela Fleck and Abigail Washburn make their Canadian debut as a duo in the stunning acoustics of the Chan Shun Concert Hall. Performing music developed together,husband and wife team – touring as a duo – will include an eclectic mix of bluegrass, traditional, and original compositions that masterfully combine two banjos and voice.
Fleck is a long-time favourite of Chan Centre audiences and is renowned for his innovative technique – an indicator of his breadth and depth is his status as record-holder for most categories of GRAMMY nominations, winning 15 along the way. Washburn is a celebrated singer, songwriter, and clawhammer banjo player who is also well-versed in Chinese culture and seamlessly combines this knowledge with the sounds of Appalachia.
