In Alvvays’ debut video, “Adult Diversion”, the Maritimes-rooted, Toronto-based band takes viewers on a day-trip filled with darts, swings, seesaws, Jenga, shuffleboards, tanning at the beach with zinced sniffers, and bumming around a street fair. Their adventures, captured entirely in Super 8, arrive out of season – even the band’s romp in a cemetery is a month late. But who couldn’t always use a little diversion from the bustle of adult life?

This Maritimer (yours truly) can’t help but feel a little homesick at a sign that reads “IN COD WE TRUST”.
