Summer is almost here and with it comes one of Vancouver’s top festivals, in one of its most beautiful locations; Jericho Beach. The Vancouver Folk Music Festival is celebrating its 40th year and in honour of the celebration, they have added a fourth night to the festivities.
A family-friendly event that has been at the heart and soul of this city since its inception 40 years ago, there is something for everyone. The Little Folk Village hosts a variety of activities for children with clay making, a creation station, face painting, free play and other activities, integrating children into the world of folk fest with ease and joy.
Whereas for adults, there is a 19+ beer garden that has prime viewing capabilities to a number of stages throughout the day so you can listen to musical acts while enjoying a craft beer, local wine, and cider.
Over 60 acts will be playing across various stages with a wide range of musical genres that will feature acts like Sidestepper from Bogota playing “joyful and uplifting dance music” to Will Varley, a Brit known for “his wit, political commentary, and top-notch storytelling.” The festival organizers go out of their way to put together a stellar line-up and this 40

This year, Vancouver-based DJ duo, the Funk Hunters will be sharing their craft on one of the yet to be announced stages – look out for their dance party as it’s sure to bring the festivities to new heights.
