Gloomy Vancouver New Wave rockers Mode Moderne subvert hyper-masculine images in their latest clip, the not-entirely-safe-for-work “Time’s Up”. A spiked gauntlet “rubs” and squeezes a banana into mushy oblivion. Photos of powerful men (or at least their sculptural doubles) are set ablaze. Bulky brutes flex, impressing crowds of women, while powerlifters buckle under the weight of too much iron.
Mode Moderne’s latest album, Occult Delight, was released domestically last January and internationally on October 10.
