This could very likely be the last chance Vancouver residents have to directly contribute to Brain Cancer Research through the man that is undeniably a part of the Canadian fabric.
Donations to the Gord Downie Fund For Brain Cancer R, Research have already hit the $1 million mark and several local Vancouver artists are collaborating for one night only to see that total continue to climb.
Musicians and artists like Alex Marusyk, Greasy Jungle, Red Heartbreaker, Steve Moore of He Is Me, Post Death Soundtrack, Rika of Warless, Steve Toms will all be lending their art with the accompaniment of Jorge Gutierrez, Jeevin Johal, Jon Ireson, and Matty Danyliuk.
The event will be headlined by none other than Ghost Body.
Ghost Body is a 5 piece rock band from Vancouver, BC. These guys will once again be rockin a set mixed with Tragically Hip tunes, as well as their originals. If you didn’t see their last gig at the Rickshaw, be sure to catch them this time around!
Over the duration of the evening surrealist painter James Ritchie will be “smashing out” a Gord Downie portrait live and on location that will be raffled out at the end of the evening.
