As one catches sight of the blue and yellow Gran Capiteau on the horizon you begin to feel the thrill of excitement travel through your body.

The Circus has arrived!

The latest instalment of the travelling Cirque show, TOTEM has come to Vancouver to deliver its magical delights for all to see and feel.  The world-renowned Cirque de Soleil’s, TOTEM does not disappoint.

As billed, the show is designed to take one through the evolution of the human species from its “original amphibian state to the ultimate desire to fly”.  The opening sequence engages you from the minute it begins and you are not left to even contemplate how much time has passed until its already time for the intermission.

With over 45 performers displaying amazing feats of acrobatics, one is mesmerized by the physicality and fearlessness of the performers.

Without divulging too much, there was one performance in particular that was executed on roller skates and a very small platform that brought an involuntary gasp with its climax.  Flawlessly executed, some of the performances inspired delight, while others wonder and laughter.

The comedic performers were a delight to witness and engaged the audience in their antics; there was a particular little Italian man that was truly hilarious to see!

Ultimately, TOTEM is worthy of the famous Cirque de Soleil cache and is a must see in Vancouver this spring.

Don’t miss out!
