Fresh on the heels of successful performances, recording sessions, and seminars as part of a recent Hong Kong summer residency, Koerner Quartet returns to the Koerner Recital Hall at the Vancouver Academy of Music. The first concert of the 14/15 season, From Spillville to St. Petersburg, opens with Webern’s expressionist Langsamer Satz, followed by Dvo?ák’s homage to his sojourn in Spillville, Iowa – String Quartet No. 12 “American,” and finally Shostakovich’s titanic Piano Quintet in G Minor featuring VAM alumna, pianist Grace Huang.
