Contributor Agreement

As a guest contributor, (“YOU”) agree to allow Vancouver Weekly Corp. (herein referred to as “VWC”) to publish original articles (“Posts”) written by (“YOU”) on its online publications, including Vancouver Weekly (herein referred to as “VW”), vancouverweekly.com. YOU grant VWC the exclusive first publication right to publish on vancouverweekly.com and re-use all or a portion of your Posts in any language worldwide. YOU may not republish articles on other sites after publication on VW unless otherwise expressed by VWC. YOU grant VW the right to edit your article(s) for the purposes of publication. YOU grant vancouverweekly.com the right to use your name, submitted biography, if necessary, in connection with your Posts on the website. VW will not knowingly share your email address or confidential personal information (phone number, etc.) with outside parties without your prior consent. Plagiarism is strictly impermissible, thus YOU warrant that the article(s) presented for submission are original; that they do not knowingly contain any untrue statements, invade any right of privacy or infringe upon any legal or common law copyright or violate the rights of any third party; and that all statements in the article(s) that are stated as facts are true and/or based on personal research for accuracy with evidence of sources (quotations, references, links, as deemed necessary). YOU agree to cooperate in the defense of any legal action brought against VWC from the publication of your Posts. YOU agree to reveal to VW any actual or potential conflict of interest, including but not limited to any financial interest in any product, firm, or commercial venture relating to the subject of your Posts. VW reserves the right to remove from vancouverweekly.com any of your Posts that violate its publishing standards, available on the web at http://www.vancouverweekly.com/terms-and-conditions/ & http://www.vancouverweekly.com/privacy-policy/. By submitting your article(s) to VW, YOU indicate that YOU have accepted the terms in this agreement. VW reserves the right to not accept any articles, which it does not deem acceptable for the site.
