Millennials are having a rough go of it in what has been deemed the ‘No Funds City’ as of late. A recent report put out by Vancity Credit Union found that ”Vancouver millennials have the least amount of discretionary income compared with their counterparts in 10 other Canadian cities.”

Yet there is hope for those in Vancouver that are looking for more than just a job and are hoping to build a long-lasting career. A career as an Automotive Collision Repair Technician is one that has gone relatively unnoticed, but comes with substantial benefits and approximate annual earnings of $100k plus after just a few short years, for those that possess the skills, strong work ethic, and dedication.

This is a trade that teaches its apprentices to focus on minute details and provide creative repairs to damage on the exterior and interior of motor vehicles. Collision Repair Technicians learn to examine vehicles, identify the components of the vehicle that require repairs, and fix vehicles to pre-accident conditions.

“It’s a trade that has an abundance of work with steady & stable employment for any highly skilled & dedicated tradesperson” says Bill Hatswell, President & Owner of Craftsman Collision.

Training and Education

Craftsman Collision

At Craftsman Collision, training and education are fully paid for by the company in addition to providing continuous employment.

All of Craftsman Collision’s apprentices are assigned a mentor in the trade that help guide them through the training and education process necessary to become fully certified technicians. The trade teaches you how to restore a vehicle to its pre-accident condition while ensuring safety and structural integrity are maintained.

Through training and education, apprentices are taught how all the pieces of a vehicle work together, they learn how to work with a variety of different types of materials and metals, and at Craftsman Collision they get the opportunity to develop these skills using state of the art equipment in a modern, well-lit environment.
