Western Gold Theatre presents Alan Ayckbourn’s smart and saucy farce – Relatively Speaking – from October 31 to December 1, 2013 at the PAL Studio Theatre in Coal Harbour. Directed by Anthony F. Ingram, the cheeky, riotous work follows a pair of couples – one long married, one young and newly cohabitating – who find themselves frantically navigating a tangled web of mistaken identity, misunderstanding, and sneaking adultery on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
“There are so many merits that lead us to choose Ayckbourn – his incredible wit, social insight, and crisp wordplay being but a few,” says Anna Hagan, Artistic Director of Western Gold Theatre and lead cast member. “What really stood out to us with Relatively Speaking was the opportunity to bring two generations together on one stage. Creating opportunities for senior actors to work with the next generation of artists is a pillar of our mandate. This work allows us to realize it beautifully and hilariously.”
