My Gold Mask gets experimental on their latest album, playing around with otherworldly guitars and electronic drums over a “wall of sound” production style to create an addictive mix of synth-influenced indie rock. That air of creative exploration carries over on the new video, “Burn Like the Sun”, with its hallucinatory, kaleidoscopic visuals that make striking use of light and shadow to create an aura of ethereal spookiness where band members cast silhouettes that blur the line between ghost and angel. My Gold Mask are rising stars and are already popular among certain Vancouverites, as they’ve shared the stage with hometown heroes such as The New Pornographers and Japandroids.
