The Knife’s latest video for “A Tooth for an Eye” opens in a locker room with guys of all ages, races, shapes, and sizes getting changed and ready for a workout. It’s obvious by their banter that they all know each other; perhaps they’re just a beer league team having a meet up for a practice session? Then, all of a sudden, a young girl walks in wearing a ref jersey and begins singing and leading the men in dance. This unexpected turn raises interesting questions of maleness and power, and also makes you wonder what qualities we seek in leaders.
