The first thing you notice about Woodpigeon’s latest video, “Robin Song”, is the amazing animation that makes art out of the brilliant use of watercoloured paper cut-outs; watching the video is almost like seeing a storybook coming to life. The video, in which we see a man literally following (or chasing?) his heart to the ends of the earth, ends on a bittersweet note as love often does. Released in support of the Calgary-based indie-rock collective’s fifth album, Thumbtacks and Glue, we see Woodpigeon further refining and expanding upon the orchestral pop sound they’re known for.
