Dine Out Vancouver kicked off last week and Vancouver Brewery Tours is participating by showcasing a special brewery and culinary experience. This will be the 6th year in a row they will be hosting the event. Local guides handpick breweries and restaurants in Vancouver, then plan a delectable tour for locals and visitors. This year the tour highlights Italian culture, cuisine, and craft beer with stops at three Italian owned and operated restaurants and breweries.
Luppolo Brewing Company
The journey starts at the award-winning Luppolo Brewing Company. This brewery is owned by two couples Eleanor Stewart & Ryan Parfitt and Anique Ross & Federico Stucchi. With Parfitt’s and Stucchi’s Italian background, the brewery is influenced by the ambiance of “birrificio” (brewery in Italian).
Each attendee starts off the night with a full beer flight that features four samples of growler fills. While savouring the house crafted beer one has the opportunity to learn about brewing 101 from the knowledgeable, local tour-guide.
La Grotta del Fromaggio
The tour continues at La Grotta del Formaggio in the heart of Little Italy at Commercial Drive. This small, well-established Italian deli is filled with high-quality products from across the Mediterranean. While participants can browse their wide selection of cheese, meat, and pasta. Customers can also enjoy a charcuterie board prepared by the owner.
Marcello’s Ristorante & Pizzeria
As the night falls, the tour slows the pace down at the renowned Marcello’s Ristorante & Pizzeria for dinner. Participants can choose their favourite house-made pasta or pizza along with a drink. One can enjoy the spacious and inviting atmosphere with authentic Italian dishes. This is the best time to socialize and get to know the guests on the tour.
Dolce Amore
To cap off the evening there is a sweet surprise waiting at the Dolce Amore, also known as the gelato mafia. This gelateria serves the finest and creamiest artisan Italian gelato. The handcrafted gelato is made with natural grass-fed milk and organic cane sugar. If one is not satisfied with a single serving, Dolce Amore sells them in pints which can be brought home to enjoy with family and friends.
The tour is approximately 3.5 hours long and starts at 3:45 PM. Full transportation is included. Tickets can be reserved online. For more details, please visit the Vancouver Brewery Tours website.
